About: Sports betting has come a long way since 1991, the year Diamond Sportsbook International first formed. Back then BetDSI, the company they were then known as, created an offshore bookmaking service using phones to take bets, while conducting the majority of their business through agencies. With the growth of the internet, it was inevitable that they would eventually transition to online sports betting, and so they did in 1998. Unfortunately, business began to decline almost as soon as they took their first steps into the brave new frontier of online commerce. BetDSI has operated throughout the years under a variety of aliases such as DSI, Diamond Sportsbook, and 2BetDSI, all business entities operated by a company known as Aracosia de Oriente, S.A, a Spanish named legal entity operating out of Costa Rica. Aracosia de Oriente first began in 1996, but it was two years before they took their sports book business to the online arena.
